This weekend I'm attending an anesthesia review course with our junior students. So, it's the week without a weekend - the course covers 10-11 hours on Firday and Saturday and 7 hours on Sunday. In fact, I'm posting this on a quick break. I envy all of you who are running or racing this weekend. On the other hand, if I had to pick the perfect weekend to rest my back, this is probably it. I'm wearing one of those ThermoCare wraps and taking it easy today. And, yes, I feel horrible about not running - but it's only three days. Three days doesn't make or break your fitness, right? Right? Please tell me I'm right - I have a half marathon next weekend!!! Oh, well - I'll finish it, that much is certain. Here's hoping your weekend is better than mine!
Wow. Long days.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Three days is nothing. Here's hoping nine days off hasn't broken me, assuming my return to running tomorrow goes well.
no you are right. 3 days is okay to rest in my opinion. and you are ready for this 1/2 marathon!!
ReplyDelete3 days or a week, you are fine. Sometime giving your body time to rest is the best thing you can do for your fitness.
ReplyDeleteI not running this weekend, and I so wish I was. It is raining here and my husbands is at work until Monday which means not running for me.
Happy resting,
elena
Yuck, weekend school is the pits. I think 3 days rest is probably good if you are in pain. Now your back can feel great for your half.
ReplyDelete3 days won't hurt you at all - and like you said perfect timing to rest up your back!
ReplyDeleteWow that is a long day! Hang in there!! I'm running a half next weekend too! :)
ReplyDeleteHope your "rest" days are helping! :)
ReplyDeleteYou'll be fine! Probably even feel better. I've been forced to miss runs before for work, school, illness or injury and 99% of the time I end up feeling WAY better. Scary. As for working through the weekend... UGH. Have fun with that.
