Now I have this little guy:
Here it is, actual size:
It was a gift, and I am undoubtedly one of the luckiest people in Tennessee right now! The iPod Nano comes in a variety of colors, and you can get the 8GB or 16GB size. It is impossibly tiny and cute, and holds a buttload of content, in either version! The main worry is that it would be very easy to lose - it's that small. I pinned it onto my clothes, briefly, and couldn't even tell it was there!
So, I went on iTunes and downloaded a couple of podcasts from Motion Traxx. The Motion Traxx podcasts are set a certain speed in beats per minute. I ran to Mean Streak - 165 BPM this morning. It is touted to be slightly faster than a 10:00 minute per mile pace, and I found it easy to run almost the entire 6 miles at 6.2 - 6.3 miles per hour. Honestly, although that is a fairly fast pace for me, it was one of the easier runs I have done. The best part? These podcasts are FREE. How often do you find something that's effective and also FREE?
If you run with music, what's your favorite running song?
Oohh sweet little device and definitely cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the podcast info! I am going to have to check that out.
Some of my faves to run to are "Survivor" I think by Destiny's Child (I'm bad at remembering artist and songs), "Crazy B!tch" by Buck Cherry (really, don't judge me for the song...it's vulgar, but the beat gets me going ...I swear!), I LOVE P!ink, too... there's a lot actually...wanna just borrow my iPod to see for yourself. haha
And yay you for a great run!!!
Podrunner is also available on iTunes, and all downloads are free. Love the nano!
ReplyDeletethat's so tiny! i'd be afraid i'd loose it hahah.
ReplyDeleteShannon, I'll check out podrunner - thanks!
ReplyDeleteMM, that's what I'm afraid of!
Kim, I pick songs for the beat, too - no worries! I'd love to see what's on your iPod! :) The podcasts are great - all different paces are included!
ReplyDeletecute lil guy!! congrats!
ReplyDeleteI ran last to podrunner (also set to bpm & free) & looooove it!!!
That's two podrunner recommendations - will definitely check it out! Thanks, Kim!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I run with all kinds of crazy music, some instrumental and some with foreign lyrics so I can create my own according to my mood. I'll have to check out Podrunner as well.
ReplyDeleteI have the same iPod - yay!!! I've had mine about a month now. Pros and cons. LOVE the small size and how it clips on to my running shorts. What I don't like is that there is no on-off switch and that if I don't want to listen to that song, it's such a production to wake the thing up, then unclip it and try to look at it while making it advance to the next song. Probalby more me being retarded but it's kinda a pain. Still...I love how small and fun it is - perfect for us runners!!!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, I have pretty eclectic tastes, too!
ReplyDeleteJill, I love it so far. I haven't figured out an easy way to fast-forward to another song, but if I'm using a podcast I don't really need that ability. I love the pedometer!
I love to run with music but unfortunately I'm without a device to do so.
ReplyDeleteSusie, there are lots of different mp3 players out there at all price levels - maybe you should look into it!
ReplyDeleteFat Bottom Girls by Queen!!!!! I'm singing it in my head right now - this is why I can't run with music on - I sing really loud. Once at the gym I didn't realize I was singing until the guy next to me joined in!
ReplyDeleteBut you sing so beautifully!! :)
